Snakes on a quilt – beading fun

This past week I have been reviving my skills for odd count peyote beading. This is held in the hand, not on a loom.

The tricky part is getting it going, and after several false starts, I realized the instructions in the book could have been a bit clearer! So I wrote in the book, which always makes me cringe but this time I got stuck twice, once with the blue one and again a few days later, stuck on the same misunderstanding, with the yellow one!

These will be snakes, on a pair of quilted, framed wall hangings, and will have to get a head and a tail, and an interesting eyeball or two, once I have about 21 motifs on each strip.

Thanks to Fire Mountain Gem’s generosity, the head and tail will be easy to do, because they have printable PDFs of the needed graph papers!

Stay tuned for progress!
